Rain squalls and gusty winds greeted the six sailors that came down to Whangaroa on Sunday. Neil sneaked in a couple of wins to be top after eight races.
Lake Manuwai is still closed and presently Whangaroa is the next best place to sail
Club members have been on the lookout for a better freshwater venue

Doves Bay is not suitable for radio yacht racing on Sunday mornings
We will inform you here when lake Manuwai is open and racing will be back to normal
As lake Manuwai has been closed because of Algae bloom club racing will now be held at Doves Bay off the Maria breakwater starting this Sunday July 16th at 10.30am
Racing will be held at Doves Bay the same as programme until we are again able to sail at the lake
If lake is closed on 16th July racing may have to be cancelled
Doug ,Glen, and Neil sailed from the breakwater at Doves Bay marina on Sunday the 9th of July and we thought this is a good alternative venue !
Doug,Neil and Nathaniel will be sailing at the Commodore’s cup at Westhaven on the 16th
We can organize racing on Sunday 30th July at Doves Bay if lake is still closed
