Racing will take place on Lake Waikere\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Google Maps\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

This will be a test event<\/strong> to see if this is a good venue for future regional regattas. Last time we raced in a nice south east breeze with eight boats and all enjoyed the racing and the beautiful surroundings at Lake Waikere<\/p>\n

We have booked the former ski club<\/strong> for saturday night so boats can be stored overnight<\/p>\n

There are a few different options to set up the race course<\/strong> when the wind is in different directions. The lake is close to the sea and this will help produce steader breeze. This is a deep water lake that is clean and clear with no weeds.<\/p>\n

There is a trophy<\/strong> for this regatta that Dougy won last time and will be doing everything to ensure he keeps his hands on it!<\/p>\n

This will be a good practice event<\/strong> for the Nationals that will be held a few weeks later in Hamilton<\/p>\n

Great campsite nearby<\/strong> for those who want to use campervans or if you book quick there is accommodation at the resort nearby.\u00a0 Plenty of places to stay at Dargaville 20 minutes away<\/p>\n
